Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
