Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt prepared to share openly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to prevent the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order put a embargo on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the probe.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a official listing citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Aftermath and Reactions

In the wake of the killings, public individuals shared varying reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by numerous individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors last week. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disappointing" and remarked they showed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an aide should have acted when the choice to weigh in on the passing was made.
