Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
